Fortica castle

Looming high above the town and lit with a golden glow at night, this medieval castle occupies the site of an ancient Illyrian settlement dating from before 500 BC. The views looking down over Hvar and the Pakleni Islands are magnificent, and well worth the trudge up through the old-town streets.

Underwater cave

The grotto is one of the best known natural beauty spots on the Adriatic and popular show cave because of the glowing blue light that appears at a certain time of the day when the sunlight is reflected through the entire cave in aquamarine light while objects in the water are turned into shimmering silver.
